Concept 4 - development - Testing the modelling block

Outcome of modelling block made from sawdust.

Same material, without being pressed in wooden box.

The results of our testing can be seen below, including a laser cutting test which was reasonably successful, aside from the burn marks. These occurred because the laser created a larger than usual flame because of the flammable glue.

Comparison between our modelling block and the existing choices.

In order to make this block a successful material for modelling it would need to have the cost to produce it reduced, possibly through the use of natural glues like flour and water.
